What is the NCJW/Essex Center for Women?

The NCJW/Essex Center for Women (CFW), provides free and low-cost services such as a career services, support groups for women and children, a workshop/speaker series, computer classes, legal and financial guidance for women and a teen dating abuse prevention and awareness program in area high schools. In addition, as part of the statewide Displaced Homemaker Network, CFW provides resume and interview skills as well as the Career Closet where women entering or re-entering the workforce can obtain work-appropriate attire. Most of the women we serve are from Essex County, NJ and the surrounding counties of Union and Morris.

What kind of services do you provide to help women, children, and families?

Through our NCJW/Essex Center for Women, we offer many types of programs and services for individuals who find themselves in difficult life circumstances. For example, we offer career counseling services and job search strategies, computer classes, peer support groups, personal development and empowerment workshops, legal and financial guidance, and workshops on a variety of topics of interest to women.
