Our Career Counseling services allow you to work one-on-one with our skilled staff who can offer career guidance to all women who would like to become “job-ready.” Through individualized career counseling, resume writing and interview skills, job search strategies and access to our Career Closet (career clothing for interviews), our clients become ready to enter or re-enter the workforce.

Typically, our Career Service client is:

  • A Displaced Homemaker (DH) – a woman whose financial situation has changed because she is separated, divorced, widowed, living with a disabled spouse, or has a spouse deployed in the military. This program is partially funded by a grant from the State of NJ, Division on Women.
  • A single or married woman – through the generosity of outside grants and NCJW/Essex, a woman who falls outside the DH umbrella is eligible for services through our Career Services program (entitled Career Quest). The fee is $75, however reduced fees and payment plans are available.
