We've made a career of counseling.
Our Career Counseling services allow you to work one-on-one with our skilled staff who can offer career guidance to all women who would like to become “job-ready.” Through individualized career counseling, resume writing, interview skills, soft employment skills and job search strategies our clients become ready to enter or re-enter the workforce.
Our Career Service Clients Are:
Typically, our Career Service client is:
- A Displaced Homemaker (DH) – a woman whose financial situation has changed because she is separated from a spouse or from a live-in partner, divorced, widowed, living with a disabled spouse, or has a spouse deployed in the military, or has left the work force to take care of children or elderly parents. This program is partially funded by a grant from the State of NJ, Division on Women.
- A single or married woman – through the generosity of outside grants and NCJW/Essex, a woman who falls outside the DH umbrella is eligible for services through our Career Services program (titled Career Quest). The fee is $75, however reduced fees and payment plans are available.
Career Service clients will work one-on-one with a career counselor and are eligible for the following additional services:
- Computer Classes
- Job Club
- Empower Hour
- Legal Assistance
- RISE Workshops: Reaching Into Self Empowerment
- Education to Empowerment (E2E) – Grant based job certification training programs are available through our Education 2 Empowerment (E2E) Program.
