Giving kids a great start to the school year.

The 2022 Back 2 School Store – Thank You!

Our 14th Annual Back 2 School Store was a huge success!   The joy and smiles on the kids’ faces when they collected their special bag was electric.  Each child received a brand-new winter coat, clothes, socks, underwear, an age-appropriate book, and personal care items, along with a backpack filled with school supplies, all chosen based on their specific requests.  Use these links to view CBS New York’s fantastic Part 1 and Part 2 coverage here.

Since 2008, the Back 2 School Store has served children in Essex County, empowering them with key items to get ready to learn as they head back to class in the fall.  The Store has served more than 10,000 children across Essex County, NJ thanks to the help and dedication of more than 4,600 volunteers.  For the past few years, NCJW/Essex adapted the Store to make sure all items could be packed and delivered with everyone’s health and safety top of mind.   We are hopeful to return to our traditional, in-person Store in 2023, please check back often for updates.

It’s never too early to look ahead.  You can play an important part in a student’s start to a new school year by participating as a 2023 B2SS donor.  Just $180 will outfit one child, and your gift at any level is deeply appreciated. Click here to support the 2023 B2SS!
