Throughout the year NCJW/Essex tackles serious issues with dynamic educational programming. We bring these topics out into the open to start a dialogue and prompt action.

A Play Combating Sexism and Sexual Violence

AUDITION NOTICE
NCJW/Essex is seeking high school aged actors for its upcoming production of “SLUT: The Play.” All actors must be willing to address and explore issues around slut shaming, including inaction of bystanders and personal responsibility of language and actions.

While the title may seem provocative, the goal of the play and this project is to educate and raise awareness around the damaging impact of rape culture. Raw and intense language is used.

 

We are casting 12-14 female teens and 2-3 male teens.*
The show will be directed by Joey Brenneman (www.joeybrenneman.com).
Rehearsals will be after school or evenings and some Sundays beginning mid-March through May 15, 2017. There will be a tech rehearsal after school on May 16, 2017. There will be a dress rehearsal after school and one performance at SOPAC on May 17, 2017.
Performers must be available for all rehearsals and the May 17th performance.
All performers must obtain parent permission forms which will be given out at the audition.

Auditions will be held on Wednesday, February 15th and Tuesday, February 28th (after school through evening) at the NCJW/Essex office, 70 South Orange Ave., Suite 120, Livingston, NJ. Materials for auditions will be given out when you receive your appointment time.

*This is not a paid role.
*You must be able to provide your own transportation.
