Back 2 School Store

The Back 2 School Store represents everything NCJW/Essex stands for: active volunteers who are ready for any situation, giving back to the most vulnerable in our community, and pulling off a massive project flawlessly.

It all took place during one busy and magical week in the summer! Following a year’s worth of planning by an all-volunteer steering committee, clothes were laid out, books were sorted and personal items organized before the shoppers went to work filling more than 1,000 sacks with everything a student needs to feel empowered and prepared as they return to school. Parents were not forgotten, as they received a newly created Resource Guide with information about available services and menstrual products, among other things.

Bags – along with smiles and hugs – were delivered or collected all across Essex County, signaling another successful Store!
