Taking action. Changing lives.

If you are a thinker and a doer... If you believe in your head and heart that things can and should be better... then National Council of Jewish Women is for you.
Inspired by Jewish values, NCJW is the most satisfying place where women like you come together to build a better community through programs that educate, motivate, encourage, and empower. NJCW members volunteer their talents, skills and know-how to make a difference. We invite you to join us.
For more information about any of these programs and how you can get involved, call the NCJW office at 973-740-0588.

NCJW Career Closet

TThe NCJW Career Closet provides desperately needed interview and
career-appropriate clothing to women who find themselves as sole supporters
of themselves and their families following divorce, separation, death of a
spouse, a spouse's illness or any other reason a woman would find herself
needing to reenter the job force. These clients are referred from the NCJW
Job Readiness Program, the NCJW Career Quest program, and other social
service agencies in the Essex County area that are dedicated to helping women and
their families.
These women come from all different backgrounds and are from all walks of
life. When a client comes to the Career Closet, she is assisted by a
"personal shopper" who helps her select clothing suitable for that
all-important job interview, or outfits to start her new job with
confidence. The Career Closet is run by trained volunteers on an
appointment-only basis. All clothing is donated.
We welcome your donations of clean, gently used, up-to-date women's clothing
that is business appropriate and in good condition. Suits, skirts, slacks,
blouses, shoes and accessories are all needed. All donations must be on
hangers and dropped off at our Career Closet located at St. James Episcopal
Church, 581 Valley Road, Upper Montclair, NJ 07043(corner of Valley Road and
Bellevue Avenue).
There are specified drop-off times. Please call the Center for Women office
at 973-994-4994 to get the current drop-off schedule.
